Welcome to SSEP Presents and Module 3 of a 4 part online education series delivered by Sydney Sports & Exercise Physiology.

The 4 part series will provide a comprehensive review of common lower limb musculoskeletal pathologies treated commonly by Exercise Physiologists and allied health care professionals. The 4 part series will be presented within the following sub-categories; Tendinopathies, Soft Tissue Injuries, Bone Stress and Injuries to the Hip/Knee/Ankle with a focus on ACL injuries.

Module 3 Description

Module 3 – This module will cover lower limb bone stress injuries (BSI) in sport, review risk classification (high, medium, low), pathophysiology, the BSI continuum model, review of risk factors including; female athlete triad, RedS and low energy availability and review treatment and management strategies of common lower limb BSIs. We will review common lower limb BSI pathologies including; Hip – Femoral Neck, Lower Leg – Tibial, Foot -Metatarsal BSIs. This module will be presented by Josiah Ayling.

The presentation is interactive and has 3 clinical application questions to be completed throughout with a final quiz to be submitted at the conclusion. Completion of this 2hr module will give you 2 ESSA accredited CPD points.  

The 4 part series has been designed, written and reviewed by current practicing Accredited Exercise Physiologists/Strength & Conditioning coaches working in private practice musculoskeletal sports clinics & elite level sporting teams. All presented information and evidence based advice and recommendations has been sourced from highly respected clinical allied health professionals and resources.

The SSEP Team has 19 full time AEPs with both Business Directors working in professional sporting teams, exercise progressions and performance rehabilitation plans have been designed amongst our highly skilled team based on current evidence and current treatment guidelines.
